How to Add External Reviewer Suggestions on behalf of a Candidate to their Dossier

Help a candidate upload their own “suggested” external reviewers/evaluators before they submit their dossier.

To complete the steps in this guide, you will need the admin role in PROMOTE. If you do not have the roles you need, check out our user roles guide to learn how to request additional access.

In this guide, the term "reviewer" will be used to represent both external reviewers (academia) and external evaluators (research). Distinctions between the two will be made in specific sections of the guide if necessary.

 Instructions

To add suggested external reviewers on behalf of a candidate before they submit their dossier, follow these steps.

  1. Log in to PROMOTE (promote.gatech.edu) using your Georgia Tech credentials.

  2. Select the correct process (Academic Promotion & Tenure, Research Faculty PromotionCritical Review, Academic Non-Tenure Track Faculty, or Tenure on Appointment).

  3. Scroll through the candidate grid for the process you selected to find the candidate’s row and click on their name in the leftmost column or Edit in the rightmost column to open the candidate’s dossier.

  4. On the dossier page, scroll down to the Components section.

  5. Find the External Reviewer component box (or External Evaluator component box if you’re working in the Research Faculty Promotion process), and click +Add.

  6. In the popup, click +Add in the top right corner and enter the external reviewer’s information in the corresponding textboxes.

The Biosketch field should be entered if you have a biosketch that describes the reviewer you are entering. This field is not required, as the reviewer will have the chance to enter their own Biosketch if selected.

7. Click Save.

8. Repeat steps 6-7 until you’ve added all the suggested external reviewers that the candidate will submit with their dossier.
