Help candidates upload files to their dossier before they submit it in PROMOTE.

To complete the steps in this guide, you will need the admin role in PROMOTE. If you do not have the roles you need, check out our user roles guide to learn how to request additional access.

To upload documents to a candidate’s dossier, follow these steps.

  1. Log in to PROMOTE (promote.gatech.edu) using your Georgia Tech credentials.

  2. Select the correct process (Academic Promotion & Tenure, Research Faculty PromotionCritical Review, Academic Non-Tenure Track Faculty, or Tenure on Appointment).

  3. Scroll through the candidate grid for the process you selected to find the candidate’s row and click on their name in the leftmost column or Edit in the rightmost column to open the candidate’s dossier.

  4. On the dossier page, scroll down to the Components section.

  5. Identify the specific component box for the document you’d like to upload and click +Add to open the component box. Each component will require a slightly different upload process. Select the correct process below to see how to upload the documents for your specific candidate’s components.

1. Type the Biosketch text directly in the pop-up text box.

2. Click Save.

The Biosketch has a 150 word limit.

1. Click Select or Drop File to Upload... in the popup and choose the correct .pdf file in your file navigator.

2. Click Close.

2. Click Close.

The Personal Narrative must be a 3-5 page PDF.

2. Once you have uploaded the correct file, type a short description of the work in the Description box next to the file name.

3. Repeat the steps above until you've uploaded your desired number of relevant works.

4. Click Close.

Note that unlike most of the other components, the Examples of Relevant Work can be any file type.

2. Once you have uploaded the correct .pdf file, type a short description of the work in the Description box next to the file name.

3. Repeat the steps above until you've uploaded your desired number of additional documents.

4. Click Close.

There is a 3 page limit for the Teaching Effectiveness file.

2. Once you have uploaded the correct file, type a short description of the work in the Description box next to the file name.

3. Repeat the steps above until you've uploaded your desired number of relevant works.

4. Click Close.

Some processes require external reviewers/evaluator suggestions from the candidate as a part of their dossier submission. Admins are not able to complete the Access Waiver component on a candidate’s behalf in the Academic Promotion & Tenure, Research Faculty Promotion, and Academic Non-Tenure Track processes. Candidates in these processes must complete the Access Wavier themselves.
